21st October
Today I finished up my blog and had a look over all the requirements for the module for my hand in on the 24th, I also worked on some new tracks on my guitar.

Today we played the gig performance, it was great fun to be back on stage after two years and although nervous I really enjoyed performing. There was a wide variety of acts playing plenty of different genres overall it was an entertaining event with some stand out performances from the Red Eclectic and a great cover of Led Zeplin. We also were lucky to get some pictures taken by are friend Camille Proyart.

In the evening I headed down to the studios to work on the mix with Qaran for the new dance track we are working on.

Today we had our final practice in preparation for the gig we are starting to sound really tight and I’d like to think we are gig ready for tomorrows performances, on a side note Robin has managed really well to quickly pick up the drums and fingers crossed it all goes smoothly.

Today I finished up the track from friday and managed to get the arrangement finished in preparation for the mix, I spoke to Qaran and he has agreed to help me out again with the mix and book some studio time for us. I’d expect some arrangement and big changes when it comes to the mix but for now this is the track thus far.

Today we had practice in preparation for the gig, we also managed to get Kit MacKenzie down to record us on a professional camera something which I’d wanted to do to put in my folio. Everyone really enjoyed performing and the song is now sounding really together and a lot tighter.

Today we took are TC1 tests, it was nice to be able to get in the studios and have a look at them to understand what we have to work with at this stage in the course. The test consisted of how to turn things on and in which order.

In the evening I began working on a new dance track and managed to get the basic arrangement down.
13th October
Today we had another band practice in preparation for the upcoming gig, we also managed to get a short recording of the track for our gig blog. This was good fun and the song is written out now and we are just trying to tighten things up for the gig. Unfortunately we had to get a new drummer at last minute due to Josh Mitchell having to be away for personal reasons. Never the less we enlisted the help of Robin Williams and managed to pick up fairly quickly and it sounds good.

I unfortunately missed lecture today, to make up for it I wrote and recorded 4 tracks in the evening looking at lo-fi sounds and trying to understand more about listening to a sound and not getting myself to thrown into the technicality of logic itself.

Today we had a logic induction, it was a short look at some basics to get us started with logic.

After this we had a band practice, it was good fun to get more to grips with the song and start nailing the structure into place. We made good progress and are starting to pull it together in preparation for our live performance.
Diagnostic Test 2
What is wrong with the music industry? Too much fakeness? Too little talent getting through? Too much vertical integration? This is your chance to get it off your chest! Write up to a couple of paragraphs (no more than 200 words, please) in this file, then save it as a file with your name on it, like Chris_Kennett.doc, and then email it to me. This is a diagnostic test to see how good your writing is at the moment: it doesn’t have to be overly academic in tone, but make sure it means what you want it to mean before you send it. OK?
The music industry today is poisoned by the ideals of fame and fortune and no longer owned by the passion of the creatives. In years prior, when boy bands didn’t roam freely in the wild, bands would work years on the circuits to get there break this kind of fame was sustainable by the years of hard work and the ensue of industry knowledge that came with the graft.
Nowadays people jump at the first chance to sign a record deal to gain there big break, but fail to realize that they may be choosing to have there five minutes of fame over a distinguished career.
